Ningxia Shake

Smooth, sweet and creamy.  This shake is a favorite of the whole family.  We have it as a snack or even for breakfast.  It’s the perfect little “something” for when you are hungry but don’t want to put in a lot of work or time.  It’s perfect for every season, but especially for summer.  I crave it over ice cream 99% of the time.  AND it’s good for you! Win/Win!

1 cup organic half and half or cream
1 cup of almond milk or coconut milk
1 cup of berries
1 shot of Ningxia Red
3 drops lemon essential oil
juice from 1 lemon
1 TBSP maple syrup or sweetener of choice, or 3 to 5 drops of stevia

Blend until smooth and Enjoy!

Ningxia Red is full of antioxidants that help strengthen the immune system, can help detox the liver, can aid in digestion, may help lower and stabilize blood sugar, help the body handle and reduce stress, is antifungal, antibacterial and full of B-vitamin. 

Coconut milk is full of healthy, medium chain fatty acids which are easily digested and help stimulate your body’s metabolism.  It also has lauric acid, which is antiviral and antibacterial, which could help protect you from viruses and other infections. 

Lemons are full of vitamin C, b6, A, E, folate,  magnesium, iron, potassium, zinc and phosphorous.

 Helpful Tips: If you want to add some protein to this treat, put in a big scoop of unsweetened greek yogurt. I used raspberries this time, but blueberries or strawberries are awesome also!
