Thieves Hand Sanitizer

Do you know what's in your hand sanitizer?  This is something that I started looking into more carefully since having my babies.  I didn't want to put anything on their hands that couldn't go in their mouth.  Because, seriously.  Those little fingers are CONSTANTLY in their mouths.  It's how they explore and learn the world around them and I am all for that! I just didn't want to be feeding them toxins in the process.

I started looking into the ingredients into common sanitizers and found these ingredients to be the most common:  Triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate, paragons, ureas, synthetic fragrances, propylene glycol, and ethyl alcohol.  These ingredients either mess with hormones, stay on your skin for hours, are linked to cancer, allergies, weakened immune systems, asthma, and contact dermatitis OR are carcinogenic.  YUCK.

So after learning this, I have taken two different approaches.  First of all, I just use non-antibacteral soap and water and home.  I like knowing I can get their hands clean, but also that they are getting some contact with common bacteria so their little immune systems can strengthen.

Sometimes soap and water isn't readily available though - or, it just isn't convenient.  Anyone else try and juggle kids out in public and just need a quick solution?  Or what about traveling on an airplane? I am NOT walking into that tiny gross bathroom just for a quick hand wash.  At a restaurant? Need to just wipe down the highchair or table before your little person explores it with their hands and mouth?  We have ALL been there and so far this is my best solution:

Thieves Hand Sanitizer is so great.  I am super comfortable with the ingredients. I got the three bottle set and keep one in the diaper bag, one in my pumping bag or purse, and one at home and they have lasted for forever.  For restaurants - I take a wipe, add a dab of thieves sanitizer and do a quick wipe down of the table and high chair and then sit back and let my baby girl do her thing.  Also - super great for little toddler hands before a meal and wiping down a sippy cup or toy that has fallen on the ground.   This is seriously a life-saver.  You can buy it through young living or amazon! I think you'll love it!
